Alberta Women’s Health Foundation

The Alberta Women’s Health Foundation is an initiative of the Royal Alexandra Hospital Foundation, dedicated to advancing women’s healthcare through advocacy, funding and research. Project management support was required in the development of the new brand for the AWHF. The result was a comprehensive brand development that reflected organizational goals, stakeholder feedback and the values and mission of the new initiative.

The Goal

Before the establishment of the AWHF brand, there was not a province-wide women's health-centric platform in Alberta. The goal of this project was to create a separate brand for communications purposes that was specific to women's healthcare that could be a voice for advocacy, increase awareness around women's health issues and fill gaps in research.

The Work

Project management services were required to execute the project. Elizabeth managed timelines and communications with communications teams, stakeholder groups and the creative agency of choice through the discovery process, creative inception, feedback, revision and finalization of the creative process.

The scope of work also included support in selecting the creative agency of choice by creating a shortlist of vetted candidates and soliciting and presenting proposals to key decision makers.

The discovery process included engagement with stakeholders from the Royal Alexandra Hospital Foundation, the Lois Hole Hospital for Women, and the Lois Hole Women's Society.

Elizabeth provided ongoing communication management between the creative agency and the client throughout the project. In addition, she provided weekly reporting and quality control and strategic recommendations where required.

The Results

The outcome is a brand that reflects the goals, mission and values of the organization and stakeholder groups, separate from the Royal Alex brand, and focused on bringing equity to women's healthcare.

Women’s Health Collective Canada

BC Women's Health Foundation, the Royal Alexandra Hospital Foundation and the Women's College Hospital Foundation formed a strategic alliance to create a national presence. The goal was to create a national-level brand and web identity as a platform to support and advance women's healthcare, addressing inequities in funding, research and care.

The project scope included brand ideation and development and website design and development. The three founding organizations required project management services to execute these deliverables. The outcome was a newly developed brand and web presence that launched on International Women's Day 2020.

The Goal

The main objective of this project was to a) create a visual identity for the Women's Health Collective Canada and b) see that identity executed in the form of a website. The urgent and essential message that brought the three stakeholder organizations together must be captured in this work.

The Work

The project was completed in two phases with two different creative and web agencies. The first phase was brand development, including strategy, name development and identity, followed by phase two of website design and development.

Elizabeth provided project management, including communications, timeline and deliverables management between the three organizations, creative and web agencies, and copywriter.

Stakeholder engagement occurred at all levels of the partner organizations. This included team members from top leadership to communications and required managing discovery, timely feedback, and approvals as the project progressed through the phases of creation and development. This required excellent communication and management skills as the teams operated in different time zones across the country, and schedules rarely aligned.

The Results

The final website was launched for International Women's Day in 2020. It reflects the imperative that brought BC Women's, the Royal Alex and the WCHF together to break barriers in women's healthcare through funding, research and care.

Not only did Elizabeth do a phenomenal job managing briefs, deadlines, and budgets for WHCC deliverables, but she also managed multiple executive-level stakeholders in different time zones seamlessly.

Between the Bridges

Between the Bridges is a dining and cultural festival in Burnaby, New Westminster, Port Moody, Coquitlam and Port Coquitlam. This collaboration between civic and destination marketing organizations was designed to increase visitation to and between the five communities.

The Goal

The four destination marketing organizations or civic groups representing Tourism New Westminster, Explore Burnaby, Tourism Coquitlam, and the City of Port Moody came together to create a new festival, highlighting the unique art, cultural and dining experiences that can be found across the communities.

A new brand and website needed to be created, as well as print collateral in the form of a passport for in-market activation. The website launched in February of 2020 but unfortunately was indefinitely postponed due to COVID-19.

The Work

In the inaugural year of the festival, project management support was required to develop a brand for the festival, and design and develop a website. Additionally, stakeholder engagement and communications were required to introduce the festival concept and generate participation.

Elizabeth leveraged her network to source and retain independent creatives specializing in brand design and web development. She managed key phases of the project from inception to completion, including stakeholder engagement with the participating organizations; communications and engagement with potential festival participants including local businesses, arts and culture destinations; strategic recommendations on brand development and web design to ensure that the project was completed within the tight timelines provided; communications and deadline management between service providers and the project lead for the DMOs/civic organizations; and asset handoff to the client.

The Results

The project came together quickly and effectively, with a brand and website that reflect the playful, creative and fun elements of the festival concept. All stakeholder organizations were very happy with the end result and the process by which it occurred. Unfortunately, due to COVID-19, the festival was indefinitely postponed, however, the assets are evergreen in nature and can either be relaunched or repurposed for a future collaborative festival.

River Valley Estates

River Valley Estates is a rapidly growing real estate development located in the East Kootenays, near the city of Cranbrook. The development will include single-family, custom and multi-family homes, and boasts riverfront access to the pristine St. Mary’s River. The unparalleled access to nature near the conveniences of a modern city makes this an ideal dwelling for retirees, young families and digital nomads.

the Goal

In the early stages of Phase 1 Sales, a digital presence was needed for communication and sales purposes. The resulting website needed to be optimized for search and lead generation, with strong video assets required to create a dynamic and storytelling approach.

The Work

Conceptual drawings and an aspirational logo had been created by an artist-designer. This visual inspiration was the jumping-off point for the creative development of the website. Copy, wireframing, design, and development were all needed to bring this vision to life digitally.

Elizabeth retained and managed a website designer and developer, a copywriter, and a local videographer to create the assets required. She stickhandled every aspect of the project from initial discovery to written content development to preliminary design concept to development and final feedback. Elizabeth also sourced and screened local videographers to create a shortlist for the client to select the successful candidate, and worked closely with that person on creative concept development for video assets.

The Results

The website captured the inspirational conceptual drawing and included optimized copywriting, strong lead generation tools including forms and calls to action, organic search-optimized development and the use of video to create an evocative, storytelling approach.
